Amapiano is a vibrant, globally popular style of house music that originated in the townships of South Africa (like Soweto and Pretoria) in the early 2010s. It is a soulful, percussive fusion of deep house, jazz, and 1990s Kwaito. The term literally translates to "the pianos" in Zulu. Amapiano is typically played at a tempo of 110 to 115 BPM.
