Skullstep is an extreme, aggressive subgenre of Drum & Bass emerging in the early 2000s, characterized by chaotic, heavily distorted snares, industrial noises, and dystopian atmospheres. As a harder, often faster offshoot of techstep and darkstep, it features complex drum programming and intense, punishing basslines.
