Tekno (or free tekno) is a fast-paced, underground electronic music genre stemming from 1990s Europe, often linked to illegal raves and large sound systems. It is characterized by high tempos (150–185 BPM), repetitive, heavy kick drums, and distorted basslines, differentiating it from mainstream techno.
