Man...this set was quite a feat to pull off.
This was definitely something that took a full three months to conceptualize, put together, and then execute into a live synced performance. A lot could have gone wrong, and oh boy did it go very wrong at times. You can probably tell from all the fumbling and weird movements of my avatar in the video, but I was essentially doing this set completely blind for the most part, mostly because the display on my VR headset decided to freeze up at the very beginning of my set and about midway through it. Luckily the body tracking worked for the most part, but I was pretty much relying on watching the livestream on Twitch to figure out how I should move my avatar. This meant that I really couldn't be there in the moment and vibe with the audience which sucks, but I think the set came together quite nicely by the end. I'm really grateful to everyone who attended my set for their patience and support throughout despite my tech issues. Honestly, I'm just glad I did the smart thing and made sure my DJ stuff and music stream was done externally on another PC separate from the PC I was running VRChat on. The show must go on as they say, and I did just that thanks to this pre-planning. Otherwise, there would have been no performance, no stream, and my chances for playing an event like this again would have gone up in flames. One thing's clear: I gotta upgrade to a better VR setup soon. Oh, and f**k Meta and their sh*tty OS.
As always, it was an absolute honor to have been bestowed the privilege of performing in the sacred grounds of Sound Empire. Being able to play at this event is my personal equivalent of performing at Qlimax (times two!), so I am just so grateful to VM, Lines, DrNope, and the entire VibeTribeVR group for giving me this opportunity once again. After how stressful it was at times to put this all together, I think I'm going to take a break from making elaborate visuals for a good while. It was definitely fun editing the visuals for this, but editing for three weeks straight has done a number of my sanity so I will probably just stick to looping visuals from now on.
