Atmospheric jungle (or ambient jungle) is a 1990s subgenre of jungle/drum and bass combining fast, complex breakbeats (150–200 BPM) with lush, ethereal synth pads, deep basslines, and melodic samples. Spearheaded by LTJ Bukem and Good Looking Records, it favors immersive, melodic soundscapes over the harsh sounds of "darkside" jungle.
